You will need to complete an application and submit it during an open application time period. The application packet includes requirements for qualification. You can learn more here.

Each home takes approximately one year to build, though this can vary due to weather, supplies, etc. The homeowner application period is early in the build cycle, so that our selection can be made, and the selected homeowner will have ample time to invest “sweat equity” hours.

The final payment amount is determined by the cost of the house along with taxes and insurance.This amount is based on a mortgage term of 20 - 30 years at zero or minimal interest.

There is no down payment. However, you will need to pay closing costs.

We do not remodel existing houses. You can apply for minor exterior repairs on your home through our A Brush with Kindness program. Learn more about A Brush with Kindness here.

Our homes are typically built within the city limits of Neosho, MO. This gives us the advantage of automatically having access to city water and sewer.

Each build is given careful consideration, but in order to make our system of non-paid volunteers work, we try to stay within the Neosho City limits.

Our chapter does not have a Habitat ReStore to handle these items, and we do not include used building materials in the new houses. It is recommended that you contact the Joplin Habitat ReStore for them to pick up items for resale. Their phone number is 417-782-6533. There are several thrift stores in Neosho that accept used items.
