make a difference in our community
Volunteers are the heart of Neosho Area Habitat for Humanity. From labor on home building projects to our dedicated Board of Directors, our houses become homes because of the generosity of people like you. We couldn't do it without volunteers!
Please consider making a gift of your time and skills by volunteering today.
Volunteers must sign our Waiver of Liability once every calendar year. It must be physically signed (no digital signature) by the volunteer or their guardian.

volunteer faq’s
-
A: Yes, absolutely! We don’t require any construction experience prior to volunteering. Our site supervisors are familiar with all skill levels and can make everyone useful on a build.
-
A: Depending on the work to be done, we may ask you to bring some basic tools (such as a hammer, drill, or level. If it’s a clean up day rakes, gloves, etc.) But we’ll have all specialty tools, and we’ll show you how to use them as needed.
Volunteers are encouraged to call the Neosho Habitat for Humanity office at 417-451-7992 before a work day for a suggested list of tools to bring.
We encourage you to clearly label tools and keep track of them throughout the day.You should also bring a lunch and water bottle (bring extra as there is no on site drinking water).
Be sure to wear sturdy closed toe and closed heel shoes. -
A: Habitat builds houses year-round, and we need volunteers all year!
-
A: In order to volunteer on a Construction or Home Repair site, volunteers must be 16 years old – no exceptions. For volunteers who are 16 or 17, there must be an adult chaperone of at least 21 years of age with them. The ratio can be up 4:1 (four youth to one adult).
Please note that with high school groups, any students aged 18 or older will still require a chaperone when volunteering as a group.
